MSM are blaming the Syrian govt for the Damascus University massacre

Amal Saad-Ghorayeb:

"So now the opposition and MSM are blaming the Syrian govt for the Damascus University massacre.

Reports like this just make me want to face palm myself until I turn blue. So apparently, this entire war has been one big false flag op launched by the Syrian govt. When massacres are committed in Alawite areas, they are committed by the regime to discredit the rebels. When pro-regime figures like Sheikh al-Bouti are assassinated, the culprit is always the regime, which is trying to incriminate the rebels. When universities in government strongholds are shelled, (first Aleppo and now Damascus) it is clearly the work of the regime which is desperately trying to turn the population against the rebels, because it is only logical to assume that the terrorists and thugs are popular in government strongholds like Damascus and areas in Aleppo. The regime is forced to adopt the false flag op as its main modus operandi, a la Mossad and the CIA, because the rebels have been so peaceful and popular among the Syrian people that atrocities must be created to tarnish their otherwise unsullied reputations. And if it was the rebels, then it was surely a “misfire” because all their terrorists attacks and executions which they proudly brandish before the cameras are mere accidents.

Of course this begs the question: if all casualties in Syrian government strongholds were killed by the regime itself, and all regime supporters were assassinated and massacred by the regime, and every atrocity against the regime’s supporters has been a false flag op, then who exactly have the rebels been fighting? It seems the Syrian government has been at war with itself this whole time."

Adnan Khalil Some people make the rebels sound like they're some type of placard carriers. And what do you expect? They even say the regime murdered Shaykh al-Buti

Abbas Bazzi They're hunting pheasants.

Cyrus Damasceno Using their brilliant logic, i can only conclude the Syrian state is the revolution's biggest ally. They should embrace it.....

Cyrus Damasceno The rebels only fight with water balloons and supersonic sound waves from their chants of freedom. They are very concerned with keeping the uprising as peaceful as possible...

Abbas Bazzi And they only behead shabi7a. Who are not included in the casualty count, since they are not human.

Sarah Deniz No no Abbas... Even Shabi7ah behead each other so that they can blame the revos... *&&%^%

Abbas Bazzi Yes, all those videos are decoys. They're actually generated by the evil government.

Rachid Absalem Have you seen the oposition foreign terrorist fighting ? It's like a cartoon , the shoot their guns empty without looking around the corner. Shouting Allah ou akbar. What they realy can is killing defensless people. They are the best in IT !

Sarah Deniz I feel so outraged, I read this somewhere I think it helped me to vent a little bit ""Those brain dead terrorist clowns and ALL those who arm, train, sponsor and otherwise support them are evil freaks of nature and a heinous blight against humanity. In the interest of all that is good and decent, real human beings desperately and with the utmost urgency need to find a way to rid the world of these despicable tumours, just as we would eradicate any dangerous virus. If humanity is to survive then it is imperative that they are destroyed with prejudice where ever they are and without regard as to who they are."

Camille Alexandre Otrakji All those videos showing FSA fighters firing mortars INSIDE CITIES are also regime productions

Abbas Bazzi They're actually produced in Israel; since Bashar is secretly allied with Israel.

Cyrus Damasceno Rachid... Allahu Akbar chanting sends a wireless signal in a form of a soundwave triggering the homing function of the bullets/missiles to follow enemy location.... Do not be fooled. They know exactly who they are fighting and what they are killing.

Abbas Bazzi Sci-fi salafis. lol

Amal Saad-Ghorayeb I love how AP bases its conspiracy theory on the musings of an MA student at Georgeotwn who works for some security institute. I don't see why my Pol Sci students can't also be considered "experts" who can provide expert testimony that the FSA kill their own fighters because thats how they roll....

Abbas Bazzi I think we need to come to grips with the realization that this is a battle between two irreconcilable forces, and that impartiality is not on the agenda.

Rachid Absalem Cyrus , i saw many video footage and my opinion is that they are realy amateurs, clowns to be specific. The west know they can't win from the great Syrian army with some useless shitheads who took a few weeks training. This whole show of distraction is only to let the world see how bad muslim extremist are. Part 2 will be invading countrys like Lybia , egypt, and Syria because they are terrorist states like Afganistan. The last who laugh is israhell.

Cyrus Damasceno I know Rachid... but they are cheap fighters and can impose damage so the west gets to destroy Syria at minimal price. With arab blood and arab money and boosting its arms industry. While we sit down here and slaughter each other on Sunni and Shias......

Abbas Bazzi Don't call them cheap, Cyrus! Hamad Bin Khara resents that remark. He only spends his money on the finest available.

Rachid Absalem I agree with you. That is what drives me mad. Fellow muslims selling and killing eachother for america and Israƫl. With turkia , Saudi and Qatar as the biggest traitors.

Cyrus Damasceno Abbas,,,,, ur bribing most of them with a promise of an afterlife orgy. How cheaper can it get to hire an assassin.??

Bill Dores Of course the regime, despite having to face a well-supplied foe on many fronts and allegedly losing bases every day, has an endless supply of arms and personnel to spare to attack areas that it controls.

Abbas Bazzi Karma: they will all meet in the same eternal destination, where the disappointed "martyrs" can seek their revenge on "sheikhna."

Zak Alsawaf Karma it is

Basel Mohaisen The level of audacity has reached to a point when the Syrian government will be blamed for a bombardment in Tibet!!

Cyrus Damasceno Legend has it that Hurricane Sandy was the work of the Syrian Mukhabaraat

Zak Alsawaf What the heck, the next Earthquake that hits Turkey will be blamed on the Syrian government.

Abbas Bazzi Bashar nuked Nagasaki and Hiroshima with chemical and biological weapons.

The Arab League

For the Arab world, historical Westphalian repute, has compelled the people ownership to a divine existence of cynicism in their relations to regional Westphalian politics or in great part as the Arab world understands it imperial governance ensuring the people of Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Libya and to a certain extent Lebanon thunderous "Nasserite" or Pan Arab advocacy. In this context, for International Governmental Organizations [IGO] or for The Arab League participants as such, conciliation in the middle of regional pervasive cynicism and transnational Arab - Western governance transmutes into a struggle in their existence to their national leadership.

With participatory Pan - Arab actors or states, an impeding requisite to Arab -Western transnational directives exists. Inversely proportional to that, due to the international political and economic interests superpowers fear this extendable muscular Pan - Arab hand partaking into regional hegemonic institutions. The Syrian Arab Republic, though the founder of The Arab League and famously renowned, a Pan- Arab actor in resistance to imperial regionalism has-been unlawfully expelled from the Arab League and at present a non – participatory actor. As a substitute The Arab League has yolked in Moaz Al Khatib a politically suitable transnational Arab - Western representative and associate of Syria's National Coalition, who in retrospect in Syria is an affiliate or an associate to the directives of the terror organizations The Free Syrian Army and Jabhet Al Nasra, thus suffering of the people of Syria.

In parenthesis; though illegal, participatory members to The Arab League do not formally recognize and engage in round table discussion of regional affairs to The Syrian Arab Republic. The illegality, stems within the formal representation and participation of the Syrian opposition movement namely Syria's National Coalition.

Rebuked due to their support in terror activity within Syria and unaccounted for by the Government and the people of Syria the so called Syrian National Coalition are only politically endorsed and further financed by the regional Gulf States and Turkey.

This “Arab divide” manifest in political distrust unreliability and unprincipled behaviour has failed The Arab League as “a liberal institutional solution to anarchy”. In line, the unethical and illegal instauration of The Syrian National Council as a geo-political alternative in preference to the official participant The Syrian Arab Republic only pinpoints Western – Arab transnational governance to the inferiority and untrustworthiness of ideals and ethics amongst the participatory members of The Arab League. This inferiority is not only manifest across the Arab world yet as well, reveals the inept directives of the Arab League.

The aspirations of the people of the Syrian Arab Republic have not been granted, The authoritarian “rentier states” like that of Qatar and Saudi Arabia “thus tends to assert its legitimacy” through economic leverage, petro dollars or 'by reference to a constituency that is larger than its own people, Islamic in Saudi Arabia' ... 'technocratic in Dubai'. Inevitably these assertions of 'legitimacy tend to compete and conflict with each other' only a failing Arab League is again and ever again reborn.

The participatory states of the Arab League ‘have been unable to accept that the basis of power in the contemporary world has changed’ seemingly for the Syrian Arab Republic the aspirations of the people, the implementation of a democratic reform agenda not excluding party politics is not accounted for by participatory rentier states however only, all said and done without the electoral participation of their Arab people do they all self – congratulatory lounge at a round table, ‘oil barrels are more important than guns but also money is more important than population size’

A Zionist Friendly, Right-wing Texan Islamist to lead Syria?

by FRANKLIN LAMB

(Damascus) - For the past year, a plan C or D, depending on how one numbers the failed US-Israel projects in Syria was badly needed for those presuming to topple the Assad government.

And this week, according to Congressional staffers, both Tel Aviv and the White House are pinching themselves in disbelief over their good luck with installing republican leaning conservative Dixie businessman, the congenial, Ghassan Hitto, as Syria’s new interim Prime Minister.

Securing the key position for Mr. Hitto, a decision made last year, was not so easy and had to be approached gingerly. But finally, after weeks of sometimes intense debate within Syrian opposition circles, Washington, Ankara, Doha and Tel Aviv among others, managed to appoint their preferred guy. “The White House thought Hitto was the best of a bad lot”, one Congressional committee source, whose work load includes Syria, explained to this observer. “Bottom line, he’s an American, nearly thirty years here makes Ghassan one of us. And who cares if he came here as young man to dodge military service in Syria. Many of us dodged our draft during Vietnam and what’s important is that we can count of him!”

And just as some Americans were beginning to believe that our government may be afflicted with a congenital incapacity to learn from our past mistakes, installing Hitto, “should keep hope alive and we should not give up”, according to our Ambassador in Beirut, Maury Connelly. “Look what we achieved in Libya” she lectured a visiting delegation recently. After the meeting, one participant deadpanned, “Good lord! If that woman had not been Jeff Feltman’s office favorite for whatever reason, she might still be serving coffee to State Department visitors at 2201 C St NW, Washington, DC!” Having quoted that snide comment, Maury, dear readers, is reputed to be a lovely lady. Just ask her frequent visitor, Samir Geagea of the Lebanese Forces, who is reputed to be her special confident these days and her very favorite Lebanese politician.

One recalls how Washington installed nearly one dozen Libya ex-pats during the uprising just as the NATO no-fly zone was being launched. Most of them knew foreign countries better than their birth country and some needed to get their hands on a US supplied “non-lethal weapon” i.e. a GPS and a National Geographic map to find the places in west Libya which they were meant to govern. Not to drop names, but in late June 2011, Saif el-Islam, now locked up in Zintan west of Tripoli, told this observer, referring to the influx into Benghazi and Misrata of “Team USA-UK” as Saif referred to those NATO chose to form an alternative government so they could be recognized quick as the “sole legitimate government “of Libya, “Franklin, you know Libya better than these foreigners do!”

Mr. Hitto’s “election” solves several immediate Syria problems for the White House. Or so they are hoping. At minimum, Hitto will be an American ‘potted plant’ who can be recognized and around whom NATO can corral an implant some of the desperate factions vying for power. Ghassan appears willing to take orders and is now involved in a crash-course to learn what he needs to know about Syria and how to implement the game plan. One congressional aide who helped vet Mr. Hitto clams he has “spunk and can be tough. And we think he will play ball.”

One proposal that Hitto has reportedly agreed to is the Dennis Ross/AIPAC idea for a “political isolation law.” If adapted by the Hitto provisional government, this decree would ban nearly the whole ruling class in Syria from having any role in government. Its intension is to eliminate anyone who worked with either the Hafez or Bashar Assad regimen from 1970 until today. “We need a clean break in Syria”, Ross reportledly told fellow conferees at the recent AIPAC convention.

Washington has also encouraged Hitto to reject dialogue with the Government of Syria because neocons in Congress are insisting that “negotiations” with the Assad government will drag on interminably and allow the current regime to eradicate pockets of resistance and bring in more help from Russia and Iran. Citing negotiations with Iran, Arizona Senator John McCain recently told Fox News that “if you try to negotiate with these people (Iran’s government) you will lose. And we did. We need action!” Some in Congress are telling the White House that the same is true with the Syrian government and it appears Mr. Hitto agrees that dialogue is a bad thing.

The staffer also pointed out that “there has been a misreading of John Kerry’s recent position which in fact does not reflects a notable change in the American position nor does it represent a step-back from the statements that President Obama made earlier concerning the need for Al-Assad to step down. Obama and Hitto are on the same page.”

No sooner than Grassan Hitto was set in place than two insatiable US Senate war-mongers, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) used the occasion of conflicting and unconfirmed reports of chemical weapons being used in Syria by increasing pressure on President Obama to belatedly approve U.S. military involvement in Syria. “The White House response should include the provision of arms to vetted Syrian opposition groups, targeted strikes against Assad’s aircraft and Scud missile batteries on the ground, and the establishment of safe zones inside Syria to protect civilians and opposition groups,” the senators continued in their statement. ”If today’s reports are substantiated, the tragic irony will be that these are the exact same actions that could have prevented the use of weapons of mass destruction in Syria.” Graham went even further and seemed to endorse a plan to put U.S. on the group in Syria during an interview recently with Foreign Policy. Said he: “We need a real partner in Syria.”

In Ghassan Hitto, Senators Graham and McClain just may have one.

Washington and Tel Aviv see in their choice of Mr. Hitto, as a likely solution to numerous barriers to their goals in Syria. They believe that Mr. Hitto can help end the infighting among the opposition to the current regime that has caused a stalemate. While Hitto is no Mohammad Morsi he does lean toward the Muslim Brotherhood and they supported him while knowing he was Washington’s choice. Hitto, some in Washington believe, can help neutralize the MB. The White House has reportedly told the EU that “the CIA recommended Hitto in order to preempt the crazies in this circus and Hitto can, as much as other of our prospects, help with the formation of a US backed international bloc to get rid of Salafist groups in Syria.”

The in-depth US training of Ghassan has begun. An ‘advisory team’ is already appointed to indoctrinate him with the ‘message’ and he is being given an intensive cram course of what to do and what pitfalls to avoid. He will be expected to learn from missteps in Libya, Egypt and Iraq. Mr. Hitto has already been clued that if he wants to achieve more than to be Syria’s First “Interim” Prime Minister he will need to be a quick learner, able to adapt fast to the “manual”, and above all, become a reliable team player. “We aren’t looking for another Hugo Chavez around here”, Ghassan was told recently in Istanbul, shortly before announcing his candidacy.

Hitto’s CIA handlers gave him the script and he read it well. In his first public address he deadpanned that he recognized the very difficult task that lies ahead for his administration. He has pledged to provide the services that many Syrians are lacking. He has also promised free and fair elections in a post-Assad regime Syria.

John Kerry says he is ready to work with Hitto. But since Kerry told members of Congress two years ago that he connected with and respects Bahar al-Assad and that “we can deal with him like we deal with the Canadians” he once told ultra Zionist Congressman Barney Frank. In private Kerry told staff members on the Senate Foreign Reasons Committee, “I like this guy Bashar and we can trust him much more than the Israelis. He’s good.” Having changed his tune, some are wondering how firm his support is for Mr. Hitto.

Mr. Hitto is reportedly eager for both and ready to get started. Earlier this week while giving a speech in Istanbul, he insisted that his priority was to utilize “all conceivable means” to topple President Bashar al-Assad and provide desperately-needed aid to the beleaguered people of Syria.” Washington understands that providing “desperately-needed aid” will soon include weapons.

Still, the White House and Tel Aviv knows that it will be a daunting task building legitimacy for Hitto’s fledgling administration, because he is lacking the support of many high-profile members of his own coalition. He was voted in by 35 of the 49 coalition members, who cast ballots, but another 15 members were not present, some bought off with cash it is rumored, and with several walking out in protest over Hitto’s suspected links to the Muslim Brotherhood and its backers in Qatar. “I have backed the idea of an alternative government for a long time,” said veteran opposition figure Haitham al-Maleh. “But I put my ballot in without a name because there were no candidates from inside Syria. I want a prime minister from inside Syria.” “The proposed government is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Qatar government,” one coalition member, Mr al-Labwani said. “We will be against this government and will not give it legality. Democracy is from the land and from the people not from a council that is composed by the governments of America and Qatar.”

According to a staffer in Kerry’s former Senate Foreign Relations Committee “Many Syrians, regard our appointment of Hitto with suspicion. Since the announcement, I have heard both Syrian nationalist figures and those from some minority communities criticize this move.”

It appears Washington, Doha and Tel Aviv has got their man in place. What the Syrian people will think of their selection will likely be known soon.

A Start-Up Figures Out Photoshop Abuses

Hany Farid, a professor at Dartmouth College, has built a career and a reputation as a leading researcher in digital image forensics. He has made software tools for a number of impressive projects in recent years. One was a pixel-sleuthing program to detect how much fashion photographs have been burnished with Adobe's Photoshop editing program to remove wrinkles and flab, while plumping up lips and breasts. Another was software for the automated detection of child pornography on the Web to help law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Farid has worked with government agencies and companies, but these collaborations have typically been for individual projects. "Research is critical," Mr. Farid said. "But unless you put your ideas into a product, the impact is limited." Mr. Farid is hoping to broaden the reach of his work as co-founder and chief technology officer of a start-up company, Fourandsix Technologies, which is being announced on Tuesday. [...] At a company whose key product has been transmuted into a verb - "to photoshop" - that means to doctor pictures, the technology to authenticate images was not a priority.
At a glance, Fourandsix seems to be in the Photoshop-busting business. Mr. Connor does not see it that way. Photoshop, he said, is "a great tool" - and one that is only misused at times. [...] In law enforcement and photojournalism, Mr. Connor said, there is a clear need for the start-up's product. "There is a business here," he said. "But the open question is what size of a business is it?"
The initial product is for professionals, priced at $890 with an annual fee for updates to the database of digital signatures. (Read more)

Photoshop and the Syrian crisis

One of the most famous examples of photoshopping during the ongoing foreign-orchastrated Syrian crisis is the photo which appeared in Austria’s largest newspaper Kronen Zeitung on July 28 (first photo below) when readers were treated to the image on the left of bombed out Aleppo. The original photo on the right came from the European Pressphoto Agency and shows a Syrian family that was or wasn’t fleeing for the violence – but the Zionist media moguls apparently needed a more apocalyptic background to communicate their propaganda message against the Syrian government.
In numerous other cases photos of former war zones are used by the media as a propaganda tool in their anti-Assad campaign while photos of pro-government demonstrations in a Hollywood-esque way have been changed into photos of anti-government protestors.

Palestinian hunger striker's mother addresses letter to Obama urging son's release

Mother of Palestinian hunger striker Samer Issawi addresses letter to President Barack Obama, a day ahead of his planned visit Israel and West Bank for first time since re-election in November 2012

Ahram Online , Tuesday 19 Mar 2013
Mother of Samer Issawi record Palestinian prisoner who has resisted for more than 200 days, attends a solidarity sit-in outside the Red Cross offices in Jerusalem, February 2013 (Photo: AFP)

"I Mrs. Laila Tareq Issawi; the mother of Samer Issawi who is on hunger strike in the Israeli occupation prisons for 241 days, a new precedent in human history, call you; as the most important ally of Israeli as you describe yourself and the president of the most powerful country in the world as others describe you, to immediately interfere to save my son’s life which is under threat as I am writing these words and to have your hands blood free after Natanyahu has stained his with Samer’s blood.

Samer has been released as part of the prisoners swap deal done under the auspices of the Egyptian government and your blessings, Natanyahu’s government has rearrested him on the 7/7/2012 for being in a Palestinian territory and was sentenced by the Israeli courts for 8 months, which he fulfilled. Instead of releasing Samer, Israel has opened a secret file to keep him in prison and disrespecting the prisoners swap deal and their commitments.

I am a Palestinian mother like thousands of other Palestinian mothers ache and suffer. I am the mother of Fadi who was assassinated by Israel in 1994 in the spring of his life, and the mother of Midhat who is now in Israeli prisons and the mother of Ra’fat which Israel demolished his home and left his family homeless, I am the mother of Shireen, Firas and Shadi who could not avoid the repeated detention and torture. We are a family that Israel deprives from water and would have deprived us food and medicine if they could.

You, who comes to the land of Peace after being crowned with a Nobel Peace Prize and whom through his long four years of presidency failed to accomplish a single pursuant for peace or lift the grievances off a person, this is your chance to save Samer from the canines of this brutal occupation, so as not to wonder with millions of others in the world: why did you come to us?

This message was published on Shireen Issawi's Facebook page and shared by the "The Free Samer Issawi Campaign" on Tuesday. This letter by Issawi's mother comes a day ahead of his planned visit Israel and West Bank for first time since re-election in November 2012 on Wednesday."

Syrian Rebels Caught on Tape Discussing Chemical Weapons Attack

“The radius of the strike, or reach of the gases, has to be 1km.”

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
March 20, 2013
An alleged audio recording of a phone conversation between two members of the Free Syrian Army contains details of a plan to carry out a chemical weapons attack capable of impacting an area the size of one kilometer.

In addition, the clip features victims of yesterday’s chemical weapons incident in Aleppo, which the White House is reluctant to acknowledge even happened, blaming Syrian rebels for the attack. The conversation is featured at the end of the YouTube clip above. The video also contains footage of western-backed FSA rebels announcing their intention to carry out chemical weapons attacks while surrounded with bottles of nitric acid and other substances.
The recording of the phone conversation purports to be between two FSA militants, one inside Syria and one outside of the country. Abu Hassan, the militant inside Syria, asks the person on the other end of the line to transmit a message to Sheikh Suleiman, a rebel-seized army base in Aleppo, asking for “two chemical bombs ….phosphoric” in order to “finish this whole thing.”
“I want them to be effective,” states Hassan, adding, “The radius of the strike, or reach of the gases, has to be 1km.”
The use of white phosphorus as a weapon is banned by the Third Convention on Conventional Weapons and as such is a war crime.
The clip also shows some form of nerve gas or poison being used against rabbits, mirroring a video released last year which showed rebels killing rabbits after dispersing an unidentified chemical weapon into a glass box.
Evidence clearly indicating that NATO-backed rebels have planned and carried out attacks using chemical weapons in Syria is important because it was this very scenario that the Obama administration said represented its “red line” on military intervention in Syria.
However, the fact that the biological attacks are seemingly being prepared and launched by FSA militants and not by Bashar Al-Assad’s troops exposes a fundamental hypocrisy that lies at the heart of western support for insurgents who have repeatedly carried out terrorist attacks against innocent civilians.
In the aftermath of yesterday’s chemical weapons rocket attack in Aleppo which killed up to 25 people, including 16 Syrian soldiers, the US government denied that chemical weapons had been used once it became clear that US-backed rebels were responsible for the incident. Israeli intelligence sources confirming that chemical weapons had indeed been deployed did nothing to shift the Obama administration’s position.
A Reuters photographer who witnessed the attack said victims, “were suffering breathing problems and that people had said they could smell chlorine after the attack,” adding that the victims mostly comprised of women and children.
Despite overwhelming indications that the chemical weapons attack was the work of the armed opposition, Britain and France paradoxically seized upon the incident to push for the EU to relax a ban on arming the rebels.
As we have exhaustively documented, western support for the FSA is intensifying despite the fact that the rebels are being led by Al-Qaeda terrorists who routinely commit beheadings, ransack Christian churches, conduct terrorists bombings against innocent people, all while burning US flags and chanting anti-American slogans while singing the praises of Osama Bin Laden.

NATO Proxies Using WMD's in Syria - Dozens Dead

March 19, 2013 (LD) UPDATED - After a 10 year war/occupation in Iraq, the death of over a million people including thousands of US soldiers, all based on patently false claims of the nation possessing "weapons of mass destruction," (WMDs), it is outrageous hypocrisy to see the West arming, funding, and politically backing terrorists in Syria who in fact both possess, and are now using such weapons against the Syrian people.

At least 25 are reported dead after a chemical weapons attack targeting Syrian soldiers was carried out by NATO-backed terrorists in the northern city of Aleppo. While NATO-backed terrorists claim they lack the "expertise" to even use chemical weapons, it was reported by CNN in their December 2012 article, "Sources: U.S. helping underwrite Syrian rebel training on securing chemical weapons," that:

The United States and some European allies are using defense contractors to train Syrian rebels on how to secure chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria, a senior U.S. official and several senior diplomats told CNN Sunday.

And while some are attempting to suggest the use of chemical weapons by either side indicates "unsecured stockpiles" and a "security risk," the weapons could have just as likely come from Libya. Aleppo is located near the Syrian-Turkish border. Had Libya's looted stockpiles of chemical weapons been shipped to Syria, they would have passed through Turkey along with weapons sent from Libya by the US and thousands of Libyan terrorists who are admittedly operating inside Syria, and would most likely be used to target cities like Aleppo.

Worse yet, any chemical weapons imported into the country would implicate NATO either directly or through gross negligence, as the weapons would have passed through NATO-member Turkey, past US CIA agents admittedly operating along the border and along side Western-backed terrorists inside Syria.

Libya's WMD's are in Terrorist Hands

Libya's arsenal had fallen into the hands of sectarian extremists with NATO assistance in 2011 during the culmination of efforts to overthrow the North African nation . Since then, Libya's militants led by commanders of Al Qaeda's Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) have armed sectarian extremists across the Arab World, from as far West as Mali, to as far East as Syria.

In addition to small arms, heavier weapons are also making their way through this extensive network. The Washington Post in their article, "Libyan missiles on the loose," reported:

"Two former CIA counterterrorism officers told me last week that technicians recently refurbished 800 of these man-portable air-defense systems (known as MANPADS) — some for an African jihadist group called Boko Haram that is often seen as an ally of al-Qaeda — for possible use against commercial jets flying into Niger, Chad and perhaps Nigeria."

While undoubtedly these weapons are also headed to Niger, Chad, and perhaps Nigeria, they are veritably headed to Syria. Libyan LIFG terrorists are confirmed to be flooding into Syria from Libya. In November 2011, the Telegraph in their article, "Leading Libyan Islamist met Free Syrian Army opposition group," would report:

Abdulhakim Belhadj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, "met with Free Syrian Army leaders in Istanbul and on the border with Turkey," said a military official working with Mr Belhadj. "Mustafa Abdul Jalil (the interim Libyan president) sent him there."

Another Telegraph article, "Libya’s new rulers offer weapons to Syrian rebels," would admit

Syrian rebels held secret talks with Libya's new authorities on Friday, aiming to secure weapons and money for their insurgency against President Bashar al-Assad's regime, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

At the meeting, which was held in Istanbul and included Turkish officials, the Syrians requested "assistance" from the Libyan representatives and were offered arms, and potentially volunteers.
"There is something being planned to send weapons and even Libyan fighters to Syria," said a Libyan source, speaking on condition of anonymity. "There is a military intervention on the way. Within a few weeks you will see."

Later that month, some 600 Libyan terrorists would be reported to have entered Syria to begin combat operations and have been flooding into the country ever since.

Image: Libyan Mahdi al-Harati of the US State Department, United Nations, and the UK Home Office (page 5, .pdf)-listed terrorist organization, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), addressing fellow terrorists in Syria. Harati is now commanding a Libyan brigade operating inside of Syria attempting to destroy the Syrian government and subjugate the Syrian population. Traditionally, this is known as "foreign invasion."

....
Washington Post's reported "loose missiles" in Libya are now turning up on the battlefield in Syria. While outfits like the Guardian, in their article "Arms and the Manpads: Syrian rebels get anti-aircraft missiles," are reporting the missiles as being deployed across Syria, they have attempted to downplay any connection to Libya's looted arsenal and the Al Qaeda terrorists that have imported them. In contrast, Times has published open admissions from terrorists themselves admitting they are receiving heavy weapons including surface-to-air missiles from Libya.

In Time's article, "Libya’s Fighters Export Their Revolution to Syria," it is reported:
Some Syrians are more frank about the assistance the Libyans are providing. “They have heavier weapons than we do,” notes Firas Tamim, who has traveled in rebel-controlled areas to keep tabs on foreign fighters. “They brought these weapons to Syria, and they are being used on the front lines.” Among the arms Tamim has seen are Russian-made surface-to-air missiles, known as the SAM 7.

Libyan fighters largely brush off questions about weapon transfers, but in December they claimed they were doing just that. “We are in the process of collecting arms in Libya,” a Libyan fighter in Syria told the French daily Le Figaro. “Once this is done, we will have to find a way to bring them here.”
Clearly NATO's intervention in Libya has left a vast, devastating arsenal in the hands of sectarian extremists, led by US State Department, United Nations, and the UK Home Office (page 5, .pdf)-listed terrorist organization LIFG, that is now exporting these weapons and militants to NATO's other front in Syria. It is confirmed that both Libyan terrorists and weapons are crossing the Turkish-Syrian border, with NATO assistance, and it is now clear that heavy weapons, including anti-aircraft weapons have crossed the border too.

The Guardian reported in their November 2011 article, "Libyan chemical weapons stockpiles intact, say inspectors," that:

Libya's stockpiles of mustard gas and chemicals used to make weapons are intact and were not stolen during the uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi, weapons inspectors have said.

But also reported that:

The abandonment or disappearance of some Gaddafi-era weapons has prompted concerns that such firepower could erode regional security if it falls into the hands of Islamist militants or rebels active in north Africa. Some fear they could be used by Gaddafi loyalists to spread instability in Libya.

Last month Human Rights Watch urged Libya's ruling national transitional council to take action over large numbers of heavy weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, it said were lying unguarded more than two months after Gaddafi was overthrown.

On Wednesday the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, said the UN would send experts to Libya to help ensure nuclear material and chemical weapons did not fall into the wrong hands.

And while inspectors claim that Libya's chemical weapons are in the "government's" hands and not "extremists'," it is clear by the Libyan government's own admission, that they themselves are involved in sending fighters and weapons into Syria.

It remains to be seen where these chemical weapons came from. Should they appear to be from Libya's arsenal, NATO, especially the US and Turkey, would be implicated in supplying Al Qaeda terrorists with WMDs, the very scenario the West has been paralyzed in fear over for the past 10 years, has given up its liberties, and spilled the blood of thousands of its soldiers to prevent.

The implications of Western-backed terrorists using chemical weapons, regardless of their origin, has cost the West its already floundering legitimacy, jeopardized its institutions, and has further shook the confidence of the many shareholders invested in them - politically, financially, industrially, and strategically. Such shareholders would be wise to begin looking for exits and cultivating alternatives outside the Wall Street-London international order.

Rocket with Chemical Materials Fired by Terrorists in Aleppo

25 Killed by Rocket with Chemical Materials Fired by Terrorists in Aleppo Countryside

Mar 19, 2013

ALEPPO(SANA)- Terrorists on Tuesday launched a rocket containing chemical materials on Khan al-Asal area in Aleppo Countryside.

The explosion of the rocket claimed the lives of 25 martyrs, while 110 citizens were injured, many of them in critical condition.

Foreign Ministry.. Syria has warned of offering Chemical weapons to terrorists

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Tuesday sent two identical letters to President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General stating that in a dangerous escalation to the crimes perpetrated by the armed terrorist groups in north Syria, they launched a missile at 7,30 in the morning from Kfar Dael region into Khan al-Asal area in Aleppo governorate.

"The missile fell in a region populated by civilians on a 300- m distance from the post of the Syrian Arab army soldiers," the Ministry said in the letters.

It added that after the missile was exploded, a dense smoke has occurred which led to direct faint cases among citizens who were subjected to inhale those gases. The missile explosion and the gases have led to the martyrdom of 25 citizens until now while more than 110 others between civilians and soldiers were injured who were admitted to Aleppo hospitals.

"In two previous identical letters sent to President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General on December 8th, 2012 issued by document 917/2012 S 628/ 67, Syria expressed its serious fear of offering chemical weapons to the terrorists by some countries which support them to accuse the Syrian government of using such weapons," the Ministry said.

It added that Syria has warned of the danger of failure to confront the possibility of reaching banned kinds of weapons to the hands of al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra, particularly after these groups have seized a private factory in East Aleppo which contains tons of the poisonous chlorine material when terrorists threatened to use chemical weapons they make in a lab near Turkish Gaziantep city to claim that the Syrian government has used such weapons.

"Video tapes broadcast at that time on websites have showed the way of manufacturing the poisonous gases through chemical materials received by al-Qaeda from a Turkish company as they were tested on creatures," the Ministry said.

It affirmed that Syria, who reiterates its commitments announced scores of times through diplomatic channels that it will not use those chemical weapons, if found, against its people, will go ahead in its constitutional commitment to pursue the terrorists and their supporters to maintain the country's safety and security.

The Ministry went on to say that Syria calls on the international community to seriously move to prevent those terrorist groups from perpetrating more dangerous crimes against Syrian people through putting an end to the military, financial, political and logistic support offered by the countries which back those terrorist groups, particularly Turkey, Qatar and some western states without thinking in the repercussions of that support on the innocent Syrian civilians whom bloods are shed at the hands of the terrorist groups.

Health Ministry Calls on UN to Pay Attention to Terrorists' Flagrant Crimes against Defenseless Civilians

In a statement, the Health Ministry called upon the UN and its health and humanitarian organizations to pay attention to the flagrant crimes committed by terrorists against defenseless civilians, demanding that they pressure the countries that are openly arming and funding armed groups to stop their support immediately.

The Ministry affirmed its commitment to providing citizens' health needs, particularly in light of the current events.

The Ministry said that the citizens who were affected by the missile attack in Aleppo and were rushed to the hospitals are suffering from cases of unconsciousness, pupil contraction, neurological symptoms, rapid pulse, breathing irregularity, murmurs in lungs, and general weakness, in addition to a decrease in cholinesterase efficiency in patients' plasma.

The statement affirmed that all health workers in the hospitals to which the injured civilians were rushed are in a state of alert and that they took all the necessary measures to save the patients' lives who are being treated, adding that some of them have been discharged after their condition improved.

RUSSIA: MILITANTS CARRIED OUT ALEPPO CHEMICAL ATTACK

Russia says it has information proving that militants fighting against the Syrian government used chemical weapons in the northern city of Aleppo.

According to Syria’s official news agency SANA, at least 25 people were killed and many others injured after militants fired missiles containing "poisonous gases" into Aleppo’s Khan al-Assal village on Tuesday. Women and children are reported to be among the victims.

"A case of the use of chemical weapons by the armed opposition was recorded early in the morning of March 19 in Aleppo province," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement shortly after the attack.

"We are very seriously concerned by the fact that weapons of mass destruction are falling into the hands of the rebels, which further worsens the situation in Syria and elevates the confrontation in the country to a new level," the statement added.

Syria's Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi described militants’ use of chemical weapons as the "first act" by the so-called opposition interim government.

He also said that Turkey and Qatar, which support militants fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, bore "legal, moral and political responsibility" for the chemical attack in the northern city of Aleppo.

Foreign-backed militants, who had threatened to use chemical weapons against the army government forces and Assad supporters a few months ago, have denied using chemical weapons and have accused government forces of being behind the attack.

The attack comes hours after Syria's opposition National Coalition elected Ghassan Hitto, a former US-based IT executive, as prime minister for what it called an interim government.

Chemical weapons against Syrian civilians

A war crime and a crime against Humanity. Anti-Syrian Government insurgents using chemical weapons against Syrian civilians is a dangerous escalation that would ignite a war with the CW supplier, Turkey.

Here's the report from Syrian state TV from the Aleppo university hospital (in Arabic-English to follow):

JOKE: AN INTERIM PM FOR SYRIA

Amal Saad-Ghorayeb:

"Both the designation of the US citizen, Ghassan Hitto as “interim Prime Minister” by the SNC, and Aron Lund’s myth-shattering report “The Free Syrian Army Doesn't Exist”, make it increasingly clear that the Syrian opposition (and by Syrian opposition I mean the FSA and the Syrian National Coalition) today is little more than a PR stunt engineered by the US & allies and sustained by corporate media and a slick social media campaign. As detailed by Lund’s study, the FSA is nothing but a branding operation which refers to the uprising in general, or more specifically, to the non-Islamist rebel groups. Elsewhere, Lund asserts that “virtually all of the major armed groups have by now declared that they want an Islamic state,” suggesting that most of the rebels belong to Salafi and Salafi jihadi groups. In other words, the notion of a secular armed opposition is a media creation.

Add to the myth of the FSA , Hitto’s appointment as PM of Nothing Really, and one begins to understand just how much more of a psycho-ops than a pysch- ops campaign we are dealing with, which aims to remould reality in the crudest attempt at wish fulfilment and mass-delusion. Not even language has escaped the new psycho-ops, as concepts like legitimacy have now been re-conceptualized to mean whatever- the- US-recognizes, such as when it arbitrarily decides that the SNC is “the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people”. So over and above the concepts of “popular legitimacy” and “constitutional legitimacy”, we now have the oxymoronic notion of “external legitimacy” which can seemingly exist without either of the other two types.

Just to put things in perspective: The Syrian government is not up against some fantasy Syrian “opposition” but against foreign- backed Salafis, Jihadis and al-Qaeda inspired groups who are not merely Islamists but vehemently sectarian Islamists whose modus operandi includes terrorist bombings and executions. And there is no actual Syrian executive other than President Bashar al-Assad. And no amount of psych-ops or psycho-ops will change either of these facts."

SYRIA: CHEMICAL ATTACK BY JUBHAT AL-NUSRA TERRORISTS

Mikdad: Crime in Khan al-Asal Adds to Record of Terrorist Groups Supported by Arab Gulf Countries, West and Turkey

Deputy Foreign an Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that the crime committed against civilians by the armed terrorist groups who launched a missile which produced gases in the area adds up to these groups which are supported by some countries in the Arab Gulf, the West and particularly Turkey which is responsible for the crimes committed against civilians and the destruction taking place in Syria.

In statements to journalists following his meeting on Tuesday with ambassadors in Damascus and representatives of international organizations operating in Syria, Mikdad said that this criminal acts proves the correctness of the analysis made by Syria which states that all the propaganda used in past weeks which made false accusations against the Syrian government were in preparation for committing this crime.

He said that the explosion of the missile martyred over 21 civilians and 10 Syrian soldiers who were near the site, adding that citizens who inhaled the gases resulting from the explosion passed out immediately and were rushed to hospitals in Aleppo city.

Mikdad affirmed that Syria will defend its people, continue its war against terrorist, and resume work to end the violence and the attacks committed by terrorist groups and those who arm, support, fund, harbor and send into Syria.

He called on the international community to be vigilant, because the threat posed by terrorist group won't affect only Syria; rather it's a prelude that will affect the entire region and the whole world.

"Encouraging terrorism and supporting it in Syria contradicts international law and Security Council resolutions," Mikdad said, adding that Syria will send a letter to the Security Council requesting it shoulder its responsibly and put an end to the crimes of terrorists and those who support them.

Answering journalists' questions, Mikdad noted that Syria warned long ago that the allegations on the possibility of using chemical weapons were meant to assist terrorists when they launch their missiles, which is exactly the scenario which was implemented on Tuesday before the convening of the Arab Summit and other international activities in order to mislead world public opinion.

He said that the countries that claimed Syria could use these weapons against its own people were in fact preparing the terrorist group to launch such attacks, pointing out that the authorities are examining the explosion site, the soil there and the patients who are suffering from the results of this criminal acts, and that the results will be presented to the concerned sides.

Responding to a question on the allegations that the Syrian Army launched the missile, Mikdad said that the missile was launched from an area controlled by terrorists and it fell near a Syrian Army location in area under the control of the Army and supporters who are not influenced by the terrorist groups, reiterating that Syria would never use such weapons if it possessed any against its own people and forces.

He said that the international community now knows through reports the true intentions of the terrorist groups and witnessed the tests they conducted on such weapons, particularly after the terrorists seized a factory for making chlorine and possibly used materials from it to produce such a weapon.

Answering a question on media leaks saying that Britain made a decision to transport troops from Afghanistan to the area for the purpose of intervention in Syria, Mikdad said that if such a decision was true, then it's wrong to consider it or the arming of the opposition by some EU countries including France and Britain to be new decisions, because these countries have been arming the opposition and terrorist groups since the events began, in addition to participating in their operations, planning and executing and the murder of Syrians.

"Syria holds these countries since the first hours of violence responsible for complicity in murdering Syrians and shedding their blood," he said.

Mikdad called upon the UN and the international community to put an end to the interference by the US, France, Britain and certain involved Arab Gulf countries in Syrian affairs and to the training and arming of terrorists, because this will have negative repercussions on the region and on countries which support terrorism under different justifications which only elicit sarcasm from Syrians and more self-confidence in confronting these countries which want to return Syria to the ages of colonialism, affirming that the steadfast Syrian people will thwart this conspiracy.

In response to the opposition's political statements, Mikdad said that the political program for resolving the crisis by ending all forms of violence concurrently and by going to the dialogue table which is open to all those who wish to end this crisis through dialogue constitute the answer to all these questions.

Syria conflict - ABC Interview with Robert Bekhazi

Mar 16, 2013

In this interview for The World on ABC News 24, Jane Hutcheon speaks with Robert Bekhazi from Australians for Reconciliation in Syria, as the Syrian conflict enters its third year.

Renda Darwich:

Thank you so much Robert, your remark reflects so profoundly many of our thoughts, interests and passion that we or I share towards this callous invasion directed to our Syria not excluding the Syrian President and official leadership in which still today so highly thought of and well respected.

With the well entrenched obstacles [that you have mentioned in the interview above 'Syria conflict enters third year'] impeding harmony to the lovely peaceful ordinary Syria under the current leadership it is so pitiful to know that this peaceful ordinary life we were accustomed to in Syria and that we all now wish for has become no more than a ambitious illusion.

Everything [all sectors; health education social economic ...] was positively progressing and near to perfect prior March 2011. With concern to the Syrian refugees; Syria witnessed and sympathetically housed [though not camped as such, like we see now of how the Syrian refugees are scattered in Lebanon] substantial refugee influx during both the Iraq War and the 2006 Lebanese War notwithstanding [since 1967] the non-visaed homeless Palestinian refugees however as we all know it the consequent lethal intrusions by Lebanon Qatar Saudi-Arabia and Turkey have just about reversed Syria's role in the Middle East.

Today, many innocent people from within Syria's rural areas have had no choice but to flee the barrage of bullets encircling their once peaceful communities and opt to live in the extreme poverty stricken shelters provided to them. I witnessed on 'mtv Lebanon' a lady who was holding a seven month still - foetus and complained of visible cancerous tumours to her chest though of Lebanese origin was denied entry to a Lebanese hospital, she was classified as a Syrian refugee it was told, in accordance to the Lebanese authorities she had fled Syria. Her husband also a Lebanese citizen but a resident in Syria quoted repeatedly 'Syria is my mother and Syria is my father, I would walk into any hospital, yes even the best of all facilitated hospital such as Hamad Hospital in Syria and they would pleasantly and warmly greet me, my wife and my children and attend to my or our medical concern free of any expense'.... he continued to explain why he could not travel back across the borders and re-enter Syria. He explained the dangers resulting from the Free Syrian Army and more. Indeed, this is real and true.
The refugees sheltered in the muddy camps in rural Lebanon wish to return to their warm homes and attend civil institutions however it is these lethal intrusions that Robert identified which has prevented them from doing so and not as conveyed to us as the President of Syria is at fault in this regard. It is really disappointing to see so much time and effort being put into insights like that of ABC TV only to watch and then question the lack of background, evidence and comprehensive understandings in regard to the subject or issue within itself. These programme or well sought out endeavours do not tell the true story or put subtlety, do not answer the question at hand.

The people of Syria tell a different story to that in the programs viewed on for example ABC TV or SBS OR Al Jazeera. The people of Syria tell us of their everyday suffering and deprivation, the bombarded public institutions, terror activity, terror organizations, Free Syrian Army terror affiliations and the impact of it to their families and friends.

The people of Syria would tell you about the horrific enduring experiences of family wives sons daughters, the stories similar to that of but with much regret Jill Meagher in Victoria - Australia, horrific experiences of rape, kidnap ransom and indeed similar stories of decapitations and to relate it to our stories in Australia, much similar to the horrific murderous scene of decapitation witnessed in South - Western Sydney a fortnight before now. Yet in Syria it is at a hourly basis and committed by the foreign funded [to a large extent, non-Syrian] affiliates of the Free Syrian Army [FSA] including those orders from the fraudulent 'Al Maglas Al Watani Al Souri' now in Qatar however in all these experiences never has such war crime been ordered or dictated by President Al Assad. This is the Syrian story. More relevant, this is the misconception which is repeatedly conveyed to us through ABC TV and SBS. One would question, which media he/she may refer to in identifying the true relations amongst the people of Syria and the President of Syria. However and to my dismay, it is difficult as these media offices have an autonomous sanction in place against them in Australia although, they reflect the aspirations of the people of Syria and they include Al Dounya TV and Al Akh bariye. An example is when Nile-Sat wished to block view of Syrian TV in time of the terror bombing only muting the Syrian story or reality of events. In all fact, this reveals to us Australians or Syrian-Australians that there is a political relationship in what is conveyed to us and what is not.

Remembering Rachel Corrie Ten Years On

On March 16, activists will be remembering the day when Israeli soldiers annihilated the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activist Rachel Corrie's life. Ten years ago, whilst striving to protect a Palestinian family home from possible demolition by Israeli soldiers, Corrie was crushed to death by a bulldozer - an act which so far has not elicited any semblance of responsibility on behalf of Israel.

The ruling issued by an Israeli judge absolved Israel of this crime, citing a flawless internal investigation carried out by the Israeli army regarding the killing. It accepted the military's version of events, including that soldiers on scene 'did everything they could' to minimise possible harm to activists engaged in non-violent resistance.

Conversely, the Israeli army's history has portrayed the opposite. The impunity enjoyed by Israeli forces includes investigations carried out privately which exclude testimony from witnesses not pertaining to the military. Apart from contradictory testimony by the soldier driving the bulldozer, in which Corrie appeared and disappeared at random intervals and supposedly explained why he was unable to see an activist standing on a pile of rubble above the bulldozer's blade, Israeli soldiers described activists as 'terrorists' or 'tourists' who might have been armed. The driver also stated he was obeying directives 'not to stop work', hence Corrie's death was not regarded as murder but rather as collateral damage.

An innovative approach in Israeli judicial history was the association of activism with violence. Judge Oded Gershom deemed ISM activists to become 'practically violent' through association with the Palestinian struggle, accusing them of intentionally distorting human rights discourse in order to sustain 'financial, logistical and moral aid to the Palestinians, including terrorists and their family members'.

The Israeli concept of 'civilians' is clearly distorted when applied to Palestinians or activists in solidarity with the Palestinian cause. The area targeted for home demolitions was verbally transformed into a war zone - according to the Israeli army 'There are no civilians by definition'. Impunity has allowed the military to obliterate the definition of civilians unless applied to their own people - a trend manifested repeatedly in countless assaults on Palestinians and resonating further during military action against Palestinian people.

Judging by the reaction to Corrie's death, activism will continue to be perceived as a threat by Israelis. The occupation's insistence on treating activists as terrorists will serve to flaunt Israel's hypocritical response to a democratic activity. Despite efforts to manipulate discourse in order to appear victimised and therefore authorised to use force against the illusion of threat to its military, scorn is garnered, rather than sympathy. The issue at stake is governments' undemocratic measures to protect and maintain relations with an illegal state instead of providing protection to its citizens according to international human rights law.

The anniversary will probably go unmarked by corporate media, owing to its vested interests in portraying Israel as a democracy. In the sphere of social movements and resistance, Rachel Corrie's death will be a reminder of wilful aggression and revenge, thus uniting the Palestinian struggle within an internationalist framework of resistance, whilst Israel wallows within its constructed fortress of oblivion.
